Amber's Bat Mitzva, Liverpool and Ben Shemen!
Amber celebrated her Bat Mitzva by delivering a speech about her Torah Portion, Parshat Vayigash, before her family, friends, congregation and community at Childwall Shul in Liverpool, during the Kiddush after Shacharit on Shabbat 31 December 2011.
Amber also made a speech about her Bat Mitzva project, which she delivered, alongside speeches made by other family members and Rabbonim.

Below is a slideshow of the Motzei Shabbat dinner (the Bat Mitzva itself was, of course, on Shabbat, so there are no photographs).
Amber's Bat Mitzva project was called Aliyah: My Love for Israel, and used the theme of Aliyah to draw together Amber's dream to move to Israel, family history about those who had made such a move, and aspects of her Bat Mitzva portion, as well as her namesake, our Matriarch Rachel. She began the project before we had decided to make Aliyah, but by the time of her Bat Mitzva, we had made the decision and set the date!
The Project, which was largely hand written by Amber and included her own original artwork, was professionally bound, but you can see a PDF version here.

The following Pesach, we all went to Israel, and Amber made another speech, this time for her Israeli friends and family, at barbecue picnic at Ben Shemen forest.
